mk4 rear seats into mk3

Its been asked before but no real definitive answers on how its done.

What is involved in fitting mk4 rear seats into the mk3? I've read cutting and welding is needed, but how much exactly and why, is it just so they fold down properly or do they need it to actually fit?

also any pics of it done? google isnt helping me

Do you have to cut and weld for the front seats to fit? the link I found says you can just cut a bit off the mk4 seat

I was thinking I could just cut the mk3 runners off and bolt them onto the mk4 as I dont have a welder, would that work? Also what are the rear seats like without the bracket you made, do they come forward easily?

i cut the floor mounts out of a mk4 n welded them into the mk3 floor, i saw a thread a whilke back that said he didnt need to wled but didnt say how, i fekon your best bet is to find a cheap set of seats and have a play round with trying to make them fit

well, i have a set of mk4 recaros if that helps  bought them but not picked up yet, should get them some time next week.
I just dont want them to be kicking around in my dads garage for too long as I dont have any space at my place plus I dont wanna find out the misses reaction to having a set of seats sitting around in the flat that I cant afford to buy in the first place
