Picking up from heathrow ??
« on: 25 November 2011, 15:32 »
Afternoon guys and gals. Just need to pick your brains. Picking sis up from heathrow flying in fromireland is this terminal 1?

Next is flight comes in at 6pm can't wait to sit in traffic lol.

Question is where can you wait or park for free or cheap?

I'm used to Luton where you can wait in mid term car park for 30mins free then £1 for pick up?

Thanks guys

Yes I think it is terminal one.

There are waiting bays near the terminals, not sure for how long the wait can be though.

Or there is a short term car park, not cheap, but you'll hardly lose sleep over it.

Yeah f**k the M25. Go through Maple Cross, head to Ruislip, go down west end road, get to the Polish War Memorial and over towards Hayes and follow that road to Heathrow, s'wat I do. But at 6, could be just as bad.

I'd get a helicopter personally....

i think the waiting time for pickup is 5 mins, if you dont want to park in short stay then theres a service station a couple of minutes away, normally wait there and wait for a phonecall

may be too late with this but the short answer for places you can wait is nowhere! the pickup/drop off bays they have you got no chance of sitting there for 5 mins, you usually get moved on after 1-2mins unless you can be seen to be loading or unloading the car. Driving around the 1 way system until you see your sis is your best bet

as for the m25, stay the f**k away from that bastard! there are a few other ways you can go depending on which way you re coming from, I usually come in from either staines or ashford/sunbury depending which shift im on, but coming from the other side there are a couple of ways as well. Tell your satnav to avoid motorways, you will get traffic anyway you go but nothing like what you will see on the m25
20vt conversion, sig pic coming soon!

Really? I sat there for the best part of 30 minutes last Thursday afternoon with no problems at all.
