New Car after the Scenic Saga!

So, go on then, got my moneys back from the Garage so now have circa £3k to spend on a new car for my missus, she likes the following cars...

Chrysler PT Cruisers
Golf Cabs
New Beetles

Obviously i know the VAG stuff but has anyone got experience with the PT cruisers?

an any other suggestions?

What about a Mini? can be had for that sort of money these days...

PT Cruisers are awful, the engines are crap and the MPG is diabolical.  It also WON'T STOP FLIPPING BEEPING just because you putthe ignition on. Yes I KNOW I put the ignition on, I just turned the key you dick!

I think that depends on the life the car has had my mk4 is probably only worth about that now but had it since it was 2/3 years old. I never really have any problems, i have never broken down or had any serious problems with it in the 5 years i have owned it.

I think if you service them every 10k fix anything that breaks straight away they will go on for ever  same goes for the g/f's Polo never needs more than standard service parts and we have that for 3 years.

Yeah, the looks are marmite, but Iike em as does she, but with them being such an odd ball I've never really heard about reliability .

But sounds like they're not great so that's that off the list
