New Garage needed.
« on: 22 November 2011, 18:02 »
I'm looking into buying a house, the problem is that it needs completely gutting so I will need to store my belongings somewhere. My most expensive items such as t.v, computer etc... Wll be able to be stored at the parents. There is plot at the "new" place for a garage so I reckon this might be the best idea after looking into storage costs. I anticipate the refurb' to take about 6-8 weeks (obv I will try to get it done quicker if poss).

So, where is the best (most cost effective) place to get a pre-fab garage, or any other suggestions.

This way I will have my storage solution sorted and a usable garage afterwards?

What do you guys reckon.

We've got a wooden garage put up in the backgarden. Not the cheapest bur guaranteed for 25 years or so and is really nice. They did all the work of putting it up as well.

Lucky enough, I think there is already a hard standing / foundations in place. Assuming it is in good order I may just get a block built garage built. It is only room for a single, but that's all I really need.

Not sure:
http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/permission/house

But don't go for everything that website says, like porch wise; as long as its no more than 3m high from ground level and no more than 3m^2 then no PP is not needed, I got a surveyor to do the plans, then went to check with the local council that I do not need PP for 100%. Only to find out the website fails to mention that if the porch is in 2m or less from a public path it needs PP! So do double check.

You definitely need permission for a garage.
