Hi guys I've got a 2.0Tdi its off a Dodge Caliber and its got what looks like a throttle body oil leak.
Can someone see I'm right and all it needs is a clean up and reseating.
Here are some pictures the throttle body being used seems to come up with a part number form a Audi A4 1.9 but the block I think has been used on MK5 TDI's as well.
I've got a feeling the EGR might be the cause if the disc thing on the throttle body it seems thats where the leak could be coming from?
Any suggestions or how to tackle this issue would be good thanks
Jay

Okay done some investigating and looks like the O ring from the EGR has failed and leaking oil.
Just rang dealers TWO O rings and one paper gasket looks as if I might have to remove the whole thing out?
Question will this miss align the throttle body anyone?

throttel bodys you can remove and refit with no issues.

if need to chnage TB due to fault code you need to change the fues as well as they allways blow that knackerd throttel body don't respond to cleaning ether :(
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Yeah I've not done a VAG com on it yet mate.
I know that EGR is full of crap, just not sure where that oil is coming from, it looks like the EGR, but it could have sprayed up from the TB aswell. Not happy about the air pipe going into the TB its held on by a massive circular clip and have heard they get loose over time!
I'll order the gasket and O rings as they are a tenner and just strip it down and clean them with carb cleaner hopefully resiting it will stop the leak. Funny thing the oil looks more like its coming more from behind the TB?

thats why they have engine covers, out of sight out of mind.

odds on oil is migrateing out from the intake somewhere,  they do that  the block is vented into the air intake so the whole induction system is full of oily crap after they've done a few miles and it weeps out.  all over the place and looks nasty but is normal tbh.

wait till you take the pipes off and look inside  it'll all be oily.

as for the boost pipes those clips to be fair to them [work well when there new but over time they wear loose once it's blown it off once it'll be a right thingy and do it repeatedly  a lot of people do gash granny knotes arount them with wire, that sort of sorts it for a bit
