Mk2 Gti 16v metering head/inlet alternative

Just had a thought....basically having some head work done and am desperate to increase flow. Short of getting some ITBS Which will cost me an arm and a leg at the mOment I was wondering if there is any benefit in swopping to another inlet from another car with a fuel rail and a plenum single throttle body setup.

This will eliminate the restrictive metering head.

I will be changing the engine management also so this end is covered.

The only issues that I can forsee are :

- 4 cylinder inlet won't be a direct bolt on
- throttle body is drive by wire

If I've missed anything please advise guys and also advise on the above especially if the inlet doesn't fit. I.e can a manifold be fabricated to mate the two

erm  its a bit more involved than you think.

manifold is easly done,  ether make one, or an abf one will bolt up but has no real flow advantage,  throttel bodys themselves arnt exactly expensive,  it's the ecu thats will cost you, and bin the metering head will mean you need a new way of metering the fuel   best option if fuel injectors and ecu but thats where the £££'s are
