I also have an anniversary coming up in a couple of weeks and I'm strapped for cash. Plan is train to York for the day, less than £25 return for both of us, browse the christmas markets, explore the city = free, meal out at pizza express using tesco vouchers = only the cost of drinks. That on top of a bunch of flowers and a bottle of her fav wine for when we get back in the evening.

It means a nice day out, meal and cosy evening for less than £50

It was our first anniversary (of going out) yesterday funnily enough.  We went to see the Twilight film as I thought it'd be a nice treat for her, then she paid for us to have dinner

You lot are inconsiderate, I met my misses on my b-day, that way I'm the one that gets the treat every year. There's no way she can get out of that anniversary!

Throw her a bottle of cheap Rose and a Pot Noodle and tell her she is lucky to go out with an absolute stud, such as yourself?

That's what I would do
