Golf G60 Fire and Ice photos uploaded
« on: 20 November 2011, 21:58 »
I've bought a G60 fire&ice recently, due to the price, I still can't believe that's a genuine g60.
It is a Lhd, and I've got the original service book when frist bought in Germany. It states as a GTI.
Will anyone tell me how can I find out if it is not a raplica from the chassis number or anywhere else? As there were only 70 f&i g60 ever been made, the information is really limited. Thanks.

Here is the link for the photos, sorry about the quality.

Thanks for the help, the car has ABS, LHD, original German service book which has the chassis number matches the actual car, and the book is in German, but I found out it written "GOLF G60 GTI,LC3U,118KW GKA 5G", chassis number also matches the log book and all the old mots.
Drives ok, feels a lot difference than my mk2 16v, the gear seems really short.
Anyway, I'm not so worry about the interio, I can accept the pink(and think it's more like purple) and blue...lol.

There are many ways to tell, but probably the easiest would be to phone a VW dealership, and quote the VIN No to them, and see what it comes back as...
And get some pics up!

Post some engine pic's and we will tell you - Mind you you should have done this before buying.... You could have bought an expensive GTI.... With IMO Crap seats etc...

they were gti g60 so might be ok

easiest way to tell is a genuine g60 will have a bonded in windscreen and a higher tunnel

Correct, but I have seen many cars that have been converted, as the OE bonded glass is NLA as far as I'm aware...

Higher tunnel?

They had a higher tranmission tunnel to add strength to the shell
