For anyone stuck on Vista/XP with a decent machine and needs an upgrade. Ofc you need to know a student.

you can only upgrade from an existing installation. i'd want a standalone disc for that money!

That's what they say. You can do a fresh install using the upgrade disc :wink:

Unfortunately not everyone is a student or their school/uni is not eligible or works in IT with Microsoft subscriptions/licenses at their finger tips :grin: but some may know students that can get them Win7 through this process :wink:

Can save a crapload on the software4students site.

I did it when I was in secondary school for word. iirc all I had to do was use my name, school and address. You could easily use your kids/nephews/nieces/friends kids info with permission of course.
