gear linkage and weighted shif rod
« on: 04 May 2005, 12:03 »
I have got a mk2 16v the gear change is good but thought of fitting the weighted rod from a mk3.  Also while im there fitting the bush repair kit.

Dsoes anyone know the part number of the rod to use? cost of this?

Also which places supply the best quality bush repair kits?

Should i change any thing else while im there?

Cheers Tim

1HO 711 183 is the part number for weighted shift rod

the ball on the end of the relay shaft is a good one to replace, its get of any forward/back play in the gearstick

All shift rod MK3's have them or try the seats and VW caddy vans as these have them too.

if you have a short shift kit you have to bend the ends of the weighted shift rod to give clearance, but its not hard...
