only ever used VPower in mine, i go out of my way to fill up

same as me! had to coast 3 miles downhill to the shell garage in corbridge yesterday as i was on fumes! could have filled up at other places but like tesco99 or v power in mine. if it wasn't downhill for the last part i would have definitely ran out!

as for your power runs they look like 2 different dynos so they will read differently. some over read and some under read so you will only get an accurate comparison if its done on at the same place with similar temperatures etc.

i get that 'surge' thing you describe but mine happens between 2700-2900rpm then it takes off again. weird

Do you have an upgraded intercooler fitted, made night and day difference to my stage 2,  To be honest I found awesome useless when I tried to order stuff from them never had in stock promised to call back but never did, I use statlers in Sheffield now, does nothing but vag and takes alot of high end porsche's etc.. Fair price great service ask for Steve,

+ the guy prolly has the fastest mkv edition 30 in the country so he knows his golfs, I had so many problems with mine with revo dogsh!te stage 1 map, he fixed everything VW couldn't after like 5 visits in less then a day

Intercooler makes a lot of difference in the top end on stage 2. Got the Forge one in mine, was a bassa to fit, had to make a few DIY mods to fit the bumper back on

what causes the dip and then surge at 2700-2900 rpm? would super chips alter the map to smooth it out?

Steve and Craig at Statllers are well worth the 160 mile return trip for me as the knowledge is excellent,  they have done numerous cars for me,  sometimes even after hours just to accomodate,  brilliant service and sensible pricing

Are you sure it's not a derv?

It's got a heck of alot of torque relative to the horsepower and the torque band seems to be quite narrow.

Nah dirty dervs give a lovely smooth graph on the way up the revs to peak power - you can see from a mile of that that's a tfsi

My VRS is the same btw.....

Neil if you'd like to come over I'll do some powers runs for you FOC to see what my dyno says about your momo
