£150 - £200 tops is it worth getting a brand then?

No way.

Unfortunately the tablets T_J_G got from Curry's ebay refurb store are sold out, I went to buy one last week

The Andy pad Pro (UK company too) may be worth a shot, not the best reviews but it is a cheap device! (I won't have one myself though)

Otherwise I'd look out for 2nd hand Samsung Galaxy tab's and Advent Vega's.
Passat B5.5 2.3 V5 170, with all the extras.

Mines an advent vega I got for £130 which is a bargain when a new OS has been loaded.
