What a lot of people don’t realise is it’s now illegal to smoke in a company vehicle because it’s classed as a place of work (even if its Joe blogs the plumbers van).Don’t quote me but I think company vehicles should also have a no smoking sticker on one of the windows. :undecided:

For what its worth i dont think they should ban it, not because i think filling your childs lungs with smoke is ok because i think the nanny state has gone too far already. :lipsrsealed:

that's fair enough. it's someone else's vehicle and is probably shared, but in your private vehicle?

so basically a law needs to be made for the window lickers that can't see its wrong to smoke with kids in the car, cheers idiots.

you can't ban it as a distraction as that chain of thought will end up with the car as we know it being banned

100% agree. They'll try to ban smoking in your own home soon! I smoke, but I would never do it in the car with the young un' there, and I don't smoke in my house anyway. It winds me up that people smoke in an environment where there are children present, and I think that sort of thing needs to be stamped out. But you cannot stop people smoking in their car or home, its their inherent right to freedom within the confines of their own property. Stupid argument, bought up by small minded people!

These are the same people that believe more people are turning to smoking rolling tobacco because its not as poisonous! Even the most stupid people dont think that (my inlaws are just that!), the fact that its so expensive buying cigarettes nowadays, and that rolling tobacco cost half the price doesn't even cross these self riteous idiots minds!

I voted yes. purely because im trying to quit and the main times when i crave are when i drink and when i drive (not combined) so if i cant amoke in a car and im giving up drinking after new year i will find it alot easier to quit.

however in reality i think it would just be a waste of money.

agree with the smoking with non smokers comments. i never smoke in my car if theres a non smoker in it.

I smoke and when we go on long family trips I have to pull over for stops anyways then I have a fag.
I never smoke with the kids in the car and I feel bad that I smell of smoke getting back into the car, but you take my liberties away and you will see more road rage and tempers flare on our roads for sure.
I like to smoke its my right when I'm alone in the car! I do some of the best thinking on a long drive with a fag in tow!

it winds me up when I'm driving behind someone and I see their fag end fly out the window

Why?
The only problem I can think of would be for motorcyclists behind.

Ban it, only because of the select dirty barstewards chucking butt ends out of the window. Disgusts me!

This sums it up quite nicely.
