Thickish People.... Everywhere!

Right, I've noticed some scary developments (or steps backwards) in young people these days. In a group discussion recently with people of ages ranging from 20-29 it was discovered that peoe didn't know the owing things:

Who Charles Darwin is
Mariah Carey is Half black
The capital of Northern Ireland
Who discorvered penicillin
What penicillin does
Britains only female prime minister
The first mass produced ford
Who Allah is
The location of Andorra

Theres loads more stuff like this but has anyone else noticed that the Great British population is getting thicker?

I could confidently answer 5 of them.
However I don't give a f**k about Mariah Carey's heritage.
And I can spell 'people'  

I'm 21 (so in the age bracket) and don't consider myself 'thick', as I have strengths in many other fields of knowledge.
