May sound like a silly question, but who do you guys use as your breakdown cover?
In my experience some are better than others, and what with the GTI being a bit of a specialist car, I want to go with the best.
I was with VW as part of their approved used car thing, but that only lasted a year so need to change now. I had to call the guys out twice (for the same issue, something to do with an exhaust sensor or something.) The first time an RAC guy came out, but didn't really know too much about it. He had a scanning tool but only a generic one, so couldn't 100% find the fault. So the following morning I asked (as recommended via the forum) for a VW specialist guy. He came out scanned it and found the fault, knew exactly where the sensor was (it was half snapped off). He done a quick fix of cable tying it back down, made a note of the code for me, removed the fault code and scanned for any others errors. He then called my VW dealer to describe what had happened, and got me booked in to replace it under warranty. So as you can see a clear difference from my experience.
Just want to get an idea of who is best out there, who you use and if there are any good deals I should be aware of like family cover because both my mum and nan have VW’s?
