PS3 Online Connection Problems

Bought a ps3 two weeks ago........Got the RROD on the xbox last year and just didnt want to continue paying for xbox live.....
The problems playing the ps3 online are unreal!!! Works sometimes, not others....DNS errors, IP address problems....iphone fine in the house, laptop fine, wireless therefore fine but still cant connect to the ps3 network....

really getting on my tits now....from google dont appear to be the only one....would of thought Sony would have this sorted at this stage

i have had this problem mainly when playing mw3, playing battlefield was fine. But still beats paying for xbox live

Came home worked for one match and getting dns error now...some joke

dns is usually your router, well at least it is on mine, have to keep resetting it to get it working.

try using network lead, i have no problems this way

Possibly the router but laptop, iPhones xbox had no prob connecting to it....just think Sony would have this sorted

If getting a DNS error it maybe your router giving 2 appliances in your house the same IP address. (I think that is the symptom of DNS issues)

So what you can do is give your ps3/laptop a static IP address so the router won't give the same address to the 2 different items. Google how to 

This worked for me a couple of weeks ago when I was getting intermittent connection on my laptop.

Look up how to put your PS3 in your router's DMZ (demilitarised zone).

Went through every fix on the net...got onto my service provider and Sony...got a replacement ps3 and guess what, same problems...

It turned out to be my av sender which I forgot I had....it was plugged into a tv that isnt used much....

No problems since
