Check out at the bottom of the page. I hopefully have a good source for a rns510. Just need someone to fit and code it. I can see a nice drive down to see the DOC;-)

Well after 7 1/2 months I have finally been told my GTD is getting started on build week 46.
The good thing is VW have given me a golf tdi till mine is ready :-) albeit a mighty 105hp puppy :-| Cheers Chris

Hi Chris; Just curious as to how you managed to get a motor til yours is ready?
I placed order way back in May - they estimated 25 week del, but thats gone now and still they have no idea of even a build date!
I am p/exin a non VW car and we worked out approx mileage it would have done by the expected del date of new Golf. But now the mileage will get higher and higher as the Golf takes longer to arrive... Dealer quoted me a price (got it on the new vehicle quote sheet) they'd give me for it so so long as they stick to that I'll be OK I guess.
Perhaps I should ask them to take the other car now and give me a loan one til new one arrives?
Your comments greatly appreciated. Thanks Ash.

Yeah that's the thing to do get it in to the dealer and they should be able to request a support car till yours arrives. You don't have to worry about the price going down then or anything going wrong with it. The loan car will be provided by eurocar they take a small deposit and will deliver you a car with a full tank of fuel then when you drop it back off to the dealer when you pick the new one up providing you have not damaged it and topped the tank back up you get the deposit back. It tends to work the other way ie you get next to no discount on the cars they can sell and a larger discount on the ones they can't mate

Fingers crossed the advice from members will help you resolve your remaining issues

I priced one up the other day on drivethedeal.com.
Base price was about 30k, and if I recall the discount was £2700-2800, so not quite 10%.
BTW they did say that VW were going to put the price up again sometime soon, but didn't say when.

I tried to get any kind of deal on a GTI from 3 dealers and was literally laughed at. In all 3 dealerships the service was terrible. On 1 test drive, the chap openly admitted he was new and had no idea whatsoever about the car! Good luck with the GTD, you wont be dissapointed.
