Just been given a build date of week 14 so delivery in April
wk14 is the wk commencing the 26th march, so 2wks from today...
As long as it doesn't take to long at the port of exit(Emden) then you shud have it by the end of April...
Excellent, i actually cannot wait! Just give my current Jan 2009 Golf 6 of which im trading in a massive clean & wax today, think that will be its last lol.
With regards to building the car, ive added in quite alot of extras, does this make the process much longer?

Na shouldn't make a difference....what extras you ordered??
Dynaudio, fogs, tints, winter pack, bigger wheels with sports suspension, park assist & camera, tire pressure monitor..... think thats it lol its a Match 2.0 TDI 140bhp as the Match works out alot less expensive than a GT for more kit (minus leather interior). So it also has the RCD510, parking sensors, alarm, bluetooth, leather multifunction wheel & other leather bits and bods, rain sensor and auto lights etc etc
Oh, and in Candy White of course
great spec and the best colour
Cheers man, pity she wont be a GTI or GTD but it will be the next best thing :p ill get pictures up the moment she arrives
Don't be to disheartened that it's not a GTD or GTI mate....some wud argue that you've chosen the best all rounder, have a read....http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=220745.0
Look forward to the pics and I'm sure she'll be worth the wait!
Steve
Just read that, happy days, makes me actually feel glad that I ordered a 2.0 140 as almost everyone agrees that its the best all rounder, i work in an airport around 20 miles from home so i need something economical
I was also having a nosey on VW's website today and i couldnt help notice that between the 1.4 TSI 122 and the 2.0 140, theres only something like 0.2 seconds difference in the 0-60 sprint :/ strange seeing as theres a whole 18bhp extra in the diesel. I take it its the weight of the diesel + the petrol having the extra 1500 revs, still glad i went for the diesel as it does alot more MPG
From day one I always wanted a golf and if I'm honest Ive always loved the R32s and I did have the opportunity to get one before going for the GTD...my mrs begged me to re think the R32 due to the fuel costs, thankfully I listened and went for new instead on 2nd hand, I've always bought new so I think it wud have been weird stepping into something used.
My previous cars have been 1st car pug106 then 2 swifts 56 & 58 plate and now the GTD. the 2 swift where really reliable and never let me down and as much as I liked them I always felt there was something missing...so this is pretty much how I've ended up in a GTD, but it must be said that if it wasn't for my grandads sad passing (alzheimer's) I wudnt of been able to afford it.
The cars I've had in the past have never had much poke so it's a joy to get in a car and to know if you need it then the power is there...
Sorry for the story!! LOL
Only seeing this now, internet crapped itself lol. I would also LOVE an R32 but i work in an airport and the petrol would actually ruin me, im hoping to get a cracking MPG as its 50mph the whole way from my house to the airport and never any traffic

havnt heard from VW in 2 weeks, but i suppose no news is good news, as far as i know the car was built this week

I was in VW getting my window fixed as it decided to drop right down while it was closed and not go back up again, the cars 3 months out of warranty but VW kindly jammed it up for a few days untill a regulator came in and fitted it free, theyr so nice..... lol
The guy i bought the new one off knew i was coming and was sitting in the coffee bar waiting on me lol said hes thinking mid april, MAYBE slightly earlier

should maybe have it this time 2 weeks, really cannot wait
