iphone 4 new screen blank

hi all,

just fitted a new screen to an iphone 4 and the new screen is blank. i know the phones working fine as when i turn it on the lcd lights up but stays blank and it makes all the noises, i also connected it up to my cd player in car and it worked fine. where could i have gone wrong?

I have had this problem several times on the same phone, I let it sit for 2-3 days with the logic board out of the phone. I found on my last install when my customers power switch would not work properly:

1. Disconnect the #4 cable and tilt the motherboard up so it does not contact the battery.

2. Connect all the connectors for the face.

3. set the motherboard down on the battery.

4. Connect the #4 cable and the LCD worked properly.

Shut down the phone properly and reinstall the motherboard screws

cheers bud. thats the vid i used to take the screen apart. but its all connected up and working but nothing comes on the screen just a blank screen with the back light lit.

got another screen to try? Whats wrong with the original? was it cracked but still displaying some stuff?

ye it was displaying everything but then the LCD cracked in my hand as i put too much force into it taking the smashed glass off. but aint that screen ment to display something even tho its cracked or just stay white?

sorted. kunt gave a dodgy screen & wont accept it back. he said the screen is working fine, i asked him have you checked it, no i aint but i know it works, anyway tried it took it back to him next day and he turns aaround and says i messed the screen up. wtf??
were do i stand?
