How much more work mechanically and electrical than an abf?

Whats the point, stick with a VR6.

V5 is not that good an engine choice.

Decent engine, but not in a MK2. Restricted to what you can do to them.

16v 9a conversion............................................. much more fun!

They can be turbo'd.  :wink:

If its gonna be done, make sure its the 20v 170hp version. I think a remap can get you ~190hp.

If its gonna be done, make sure its the 20v 170hp version. I think a remap can get you ~190hp.

I think the last one I saw remapped gained 3/4 bhp. :smiley:

it would go but it's one of those engine not meany people bother with.

has a reputaion for being a bit thirsty for what it is
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
