Have tried heat. 

I will try and get a longer breaker on it tonight.  Pretty sure I can get hold of an impact driver as well.

As for the top bolt, I will have a look into the slotted nuts but as the originals are being made redundant I'll maybe just go for it with maul grips and see how I get on.

Will keep you posted.


Buy some freeze spray right after putting heat on to it, it should contract the metal bolt enough to free it up!

i used a breaker bar and sh!t loads of force wedged a spanner in the other nut so it wouldnt just turn on me, to do the mount nuts get the special slot tool saves so much agro, if you can get hold of impact gun that should help get the nuts off, you could try bashing the nuts hard with a hammer will shock the threads back in alignment with the nuts

Plus gas or heat should do the trick on the lower ones.
