Swings and roundabouts I suppose. I know someone with a press and can get bearings a fair bit cheaper, but then I'm a geek and have known my mechanic for 12yrs +

You can buy an engine for that money!! Or a complete car! Do it yourself man! Even if you have to take a whole day off work to do it! Get 2 bearings for 60 quid (perfectly good), and take the hub to a garage to press them out and put new ones in, for a 10er. Unless you take home 160 odd quid a day its a cheaper option and you'll have learnt something. Even if you had no tools and had to go buy a 100quid socket set you'd still have change from your 250, and a decent set to maintain the mk2 with in the future!
