Mk2 2.0 8v >>>>> 20VT
« on: 09 November 2011, 15:57 »
Right, the time has come that i finally decided that no amount of money thrown at my 8v lump is gonna get me anywhere quick enough. So i have bought from my mate a 20vt lump out of a seat ibiza cupra with a K03s turbo. The engine wiring harness, manifold etc for £450 I have read up that i can get a kit from Qpeng for £600 to convert my wiring loom to just plug in. Is there any specific gearbox that is best to use, obviously i will put a sachs clutch in. Does anyone recommend this and have any other tips or tricks for me before i start ripping my car to pieces.

Cheers

Also does anyone know if/how i can run std management as i have been told it is better than qpeng as it keeps more sensors from the engine?

Yes you can (not 100% sure on whats involved) and it is a better bet than qpeng.

OEM managment is always worth using if you can it gives you much more.
