Outlook Help

Need to set up Outlook on my home PC.
Have tried on several occassions but when I get the window that asks youu to set the server it all goes Pete Tong!

A step by step guide is what I need.
Mystic Blue Mk3 16v + Black Mk5 Gti 05 plate + Peugeot 405 Mi16

Latest I guess so its compatible with work.
We use Windows 2007

I think you possibly use Office 2007.  :grin:

I stuck my disc in and it just upgraded everything for me even had my old folders in the right place.
The only thing I suggest is that you save a PST file which stores most of the data for the way you have your folders and addresses I think.
I hated 2010 too many sub tool Bars for liking  :cry:

in most circumstances you'd select pop3 and pop the in your email log on and password together with your email inbound and outbound server addresses... eg. mail.btinternet.com and smtp.btinternet.com

Oh this old chest nut if its Hotmail you wanna hook up then use outlook connect you need to down load this so it connects through your live account to set up your email. You could only do the old way back in 2003 its all about outlook connect these days Len.

•Download and install Microsoft Outlook Hotmail Connector.
•Select Outlook Connector | Add a New Account... from the menu in Outlook.
•Type your Windows Live Hotmail address under E-mail address:.
•Enter your Windows Live Hotmail password under Password:.
•Type your name under Name:.
•Click OK.
•Click OK again.
•Restart Outlook.


IMAP is good for Gmail accounts as long as you change the setting in your Gmail account to provide a IMAP to outlook!
