I like the idea of the rear camera but wouldn't pay over £300 for one.

I have DAB in my daily driver, but as an add on (the car is 14 years old) using a Pure Highway. The reception is good in cities and areas where reception is good using just a screen mounted ariel but can break up a little in remote areas.
I do like the DAB though, it's nice to be able to listen to the footie in the car without the AM signal screaming and fading alternatively...

Meant to add, I like DAB in the house but the reception can be terrible at times so not sure how it would be driving about.  Anyone recommend it?

A mate has it as standard in his wifes Kuga. It does sound really good. So much so, he's looking into reto fitting it into his new Superb.

My nephew has the petrol Match and it comes loaded with kit. I got him to specify fogs as they do improve the look of the front. Besides, they come as cornering fogs from the factory, a feature which he finds useful. Brilliant ride on the 16" wheels and ever so quiet.

Cornering fogs are not the same as being a tw@ and driving with your fogs on. They seem to be standard on non GTI models with factory fitted front fog lights, but seemingly they can be coded to work on GTI's.

If you are not aware of what they do, they illuminate on one side only when you indicate or turn the steering beyond a certain angle at low speeds.

My GT has them, and I'm not sure if I like them. They do have their benifits, but on the other hand, to the uninformed, make them look like they're broken.

I got the Match so it came with most of the things I wanted.

I added park assist, rear tints and luxury pack.

I was going to get the fogs but decided against at the last minute and nearly bought the colour MFD but realised i was paying over £200 for a gimmick.

IMO the Colour MFD is great compared to the standard.  It is smoother going through the screens and much easier to read.  Worth it on the new car. IMO

Don't say that!

In pictures it looked a bit 'meh' so I didnt bother to spec it.
:(

I still need a few more posts then I can message SteveP RE: the lights :)

Glad it's just a plug and play job though - doesnt sound like I need a recode thankfully!

My last post was intended a little tongue in cheek,  I'm unlikely to drive around with my fogs on unless required,  I am a 'tw@t' though !!

Thanks for the additional info though,  I had no idea there were so many spec differences amongst the Golf range,  certainly learning a lot from this forum but it could be an expensive exercise with several items already on my wish list
