I bought this mint 8v GTI in Glasgow a few months ago but have not had much chance to upload any info or pics.

Since owning Dino I have driven 1400 miles. The car is a pleasure to drive and own.
Apart from a few minor body repairs and a flying MOT pass (no advisories) I have not had to do anything to the car. The only thing that concerned me were the budget tyres, the 'stunners'. Without knowing much about them it was clear that grip was very poor, and made me nervous on a wet road.

Today I got some Conti Sport contact 2s fitted. My prefered tyre over the past few years were Falken 452s - a mid priced tyre with great performance, but sadly are no longer available. My Clio RS 200 has sport contact 3s and they have been superb, so I went with the contis available in 195/50/15. The car is a different beast altogether now. Grip is excellent, breaking hugely improved, ride less harsh and all round the car is sharper. One added bonus is the steering wheel shudder at 70 mph has gone; certainly a balancing issue.
I cannot believe the difference, and in our ever more ridiclously health and safety driven society, it is staggering that budget tyres with such dangerous levels of performance are available for purchase.
Anyway, next job is to refix the debonded rear roof lining, and Dino will be truly mint again!
