TDI timing belt slipped
« on: 06 November 2011, 18:58 »
Hi all,ive got a mk4 golf tdi 110 non pd.i had a lot of trouble yesterday with what u thought was the immobiliser.turns out its not that as its getting fuel into the bores and everything is as it should be.turns out the cam belt has slipped....quite a lot due to what looks like the tensioner loosing its posistion.how can i tell if ive bent a valve or anything like that without removing the head?would i be able to see it by removing the cam cover? the engine turns over on the starter ok without any clattering or anything so im hoping its all ok
i think i love you.....

I wouldn't go turning it over any more for risk of damaging something.
You wont see much from the cam cover.
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

Get everything back where it should be and see what happens...........shouldn't have slipped, why did that happen?
