crash on the m5

just seen on the news that there has been a 25car/lorrie pile up on the m5 tonight with many dead and 30 injured. was on the m5 on my way to cardif at about 6 and the weather was mental and was two crashes at that time.

Fcuk, thats bad news man, no doubt a few people not driving to the conditions with a devastating effect

said on the news that there was explosions due to fuel tanks, and said that its the worst crash in the area in living memory

yep, im 2mins from j25, i can hear sirens, helicopters the lot. been going on for some hours now, all because of the carnival.

also in bridgwater we had the supporting wall and half a road off the main river collapse due to high tides and heavy rain.

so police are manning the carnival, the collapsed wall and road, evacuating local residents incase of flooding and more road damage and the 25car pile up on the motorwayl. they are getting the army in for support on the M5

I was only discussing with a couple of mates that there hadn't been any of these mega-crashes for years now the other day.  :cry:

As I remember there was a real spate of them back in the 80s and early 90s.  Don't know whether it's improving vehicles, improved warning systems on motorways, or what, but I can't remember anything of this scale in the UK for a few years now.

Drive to the conditions and leave plenty of space in front of you, people.  Keep safe.

Not good. :sad: supposed to be going up to Bristol today for a 50th tonight, and a christening tomorrow too. Better find an alternative route.
