Thinking of buying a MK2 project
« on: 04 November 2011, 10:08 »
I've always loved mk2's and the more I read the forum on here and PVW mag I become more and more in love with them!

I've owned my mk3 golf for just under a year and im getting a little bored of it now plus the constant problems that I've had with it considering it wasn't a very good example in the first place!

I was thinking of buying a mk2 project from somewhere, been looking through eBay mainly but I'm after a decent shell preferably GTI so that I can try and fit a VR6 engine into it which I plan on rebuilding slowly over the next year or so!

Anything I should look out for on a mk2? Liable places to rust etc. I'm after something that does run for easier movement of the car but it's not really essential depends on the prices I suppose :)

Thanks
