KW Variant 1 Minimum drop
« on: 04 November 2011, 10:03 »
I've had a search and can't find anything on this.

I've just picked up an 8v with a Koni STR kit on it. Cornering is good but I'm not impressed with the ride quality, even on 185 55s.

I was thinking of the KW Variant 1s but I can't find any information on how much the minimum drop is for these. A lot of the vendor sites say 45mm but the kit is for all Mk2's so that might be from a standard model.

Anybody got any idea how much the minimum drop would be on a 8v and how they compare to STRs for ride quality?

Thanks

I think you should be trying and test what works for you some, factors you have to consider are, the wheel and tyre sizes to take into account of clearance issues. I would have said about 45mm would be right. I lower them to about where the low profile tyre just hits the arches for clean looks then ramp them up if I get scrubbing or arch roll.
