MK2 G60, 16v and GTI brakes on MK3 1.8 8v??
« on: 04 November 2011, 09:00 »
I already know that I will be running some VR6 front callipers and either some G60, 16v or GTI discs (so I can maintain my 4x100 PCD) My question is:

Can I use MK2 rear brakes on my MK3 rear beam? I'll be honest, I don't know if the MK2's used rear drums or discs, so I thought I would ask :)

Cheers guys!

Mk2 GTI's had 226mm discs, all non GTI's had drums.

Out of interest why do you want to stay 4x100

For a number of reasons:

To keep the cost down, so I don't have to do front and back at the same time, so I don't have to buy new alloys untill my Porsche rims are refirb'd :) Lastly and most importantly, the adapters i need for my Porsche rims will later be used on my MK1 Golf project, so I need to keep the same PCD!
