The traffic light shoot out is very much of a muchness in a GTI vs remapped GTD but when they are both remapped the GTI is much faster.

You aren't trying hard enough Herr Doktore

I'm at 221bhp and 232lbft from my mini-me 1.4 GTI.

Your torque is however, very impressive.  :embarassed:

Get that DPF off pronto.

Great to see that Carbon is doing well and turning out good tuning results. I may have to pop down and see you sometime.

Is the DPF on all of the 170 Diesel golfs? What effect does removing this have on both performance + other factors such as mot/economy/emissions if any??

They are fitted to ALL the 170's; that includes the older PD engines like mine and the newer CR engines like Craig's

Removing the DPF free's up anywhere between 5-15bhp and a few lbs ft of torque.  MPG is also said to improve.

AFAIK the MOT is changing next year so any car manufactured from a certain point in 2008 MUST have the DPF in place otherwise it will be an instant fail......

Thanks!

So a pre 2008 GTTDi 170 is quite desirable then I imagine...  :undecided:

Rhyso is the DPF like the CAT with the honeycombe centre :undecided: how does it work? If it is like the CAT then can it be opened and knocked out to make it straight through.

Yes it is but we sell lovely bypass pipes that help the exhaust gasses flow better

Also you can put you dpf back on if required in future if needs be

What he said ^^^^^

I never understand those who simply remove the guts of the DPF  :undecided:  At some points in the pipe work around the DPF you're looking at only an inch in bore size

A true DPF delete pipe gives the best gains
