I don't think the 1.8t has that much lag tbh, all depends how it is mapped at the end of the day.

Mine does!

Mine is an AUQ with a ko3s, pulls really hard from low down and build / comes on boost really quickly.

I've just bought a vr6 and it does put a grin on my face everytime I drive it...even at 5.30 in the morning on the way to work!!!! But I don't know much about the Mk4 and turbo's... :undecided:

mine has little to no lag, I may be wrong here but from my understanding of how turbos work you should be getting very little if any lag from a k03/k03s as its only a small turbo. lag is more of an issue on bigger turbos

Mine has no real lag, it's all about the map :wink:


But in fairness mine produces 187.5bhp and 182lb/ft on the rollers and given the weight to power ration it can't be much different to a MK4 1.8T that's had a stage 1 map?

From memory Dom's made 205bhp and 245lb/ft torque when first remapped, weight wise a mk4 cannot be that much heavier.

It did indeed and although the power figures are fairly similar it's all about the torque! 182lb/ft vs 245lb/ft is a huge difference and a lot more noticeable than a similar hp difference would be :wink:
