1.8 8v tuning options?

Iv one and got my self a 1.8 8v and it's a bit sluggish!

I don't realy want to do an engine conversion right now so what options do I have?
Its got single point injection, NOT a carb iv been told lol

So this is what iv been thinking, mk2 gti cam, mk3 gti manifold and raising the c/r to 10:1

Is there a way to change the injector or do something with that system? I guess webbers are out of the question?

Pointless doing anything, not really a engine that responds well to tuning.

a good service, dizzy cap & arm, plugs, leads etc.  otherwise buy a gti or better.
