guide to changing a door handle and lock

could not find a guide for this guys could sum one talk me through it thanks dan

on the side of the door is a torx bolt(right by the latch). undo it. Now pull the handle, you will see how it dislocates. With the handle out, take note of how the little parts including paddle and spring etc go together.

Taking a photo will help here.

Getting the handle back in can be fiddly, there is a "nack" to it. Im sure you will figure it, just have a good play.

Hopefully someone else can expand on this abit for you  :embarassed:

can the drivers handle be removed without removing the door card mine seems attatched by a rod?

You are supposed to be able to fit door gaurds without taking off the inner trim (involes taking the handle off), it can be done.
It took me an hour to do the passenger side like this and 20 mins on the drivers side after taking the trim off, a lot less hassle.
There is a knack just as Harlemax said :smiley:

there is 3 torx bits to the side??

to get the handle off there is 1 torque is 1 then it pull out slightly then should come out totally :)
