ios devices have an annual refresh rate. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Exactly. Im not surprised a March release date is likely, i would have guessed it. After the rumour mill fail on the 4S im not going to take any notice. The same 'asian sources' sad it was a brand new design

Point being, that is your product is so amazing, why does it only last a year?

THis can be applied to all tech firms though. HTC upgrade their devices on a yearly cycle as well. Car makers add new stuff to the next years model etc etc. It's all to drive sales, afterall they're in the business of making money.

Don't see a new X-Box every year do you?

Apple users are just like junkies.  They have to have their fix. "It's new! so it must be better?"

So me being an Apple fan I would be writing this off my 2011 Macbook whilst making a call on my iPhone 4G?

Wrong, I'm typing this on my 2008(ish) Macbook whilst making a call on my 30 month old iPhone 3GS. Yes, there are some silly people who have to have the latest model but this applies to cars and most other tech. At the end of the day it's out of date yes, but Apple products seem to last ALOT longer than most of their rivals.

GAmes consoles are a different ball game, they sell those at a massive loss and need long periods of sale of the one model to recoup that cost. Not to mention that games developers need years to build games. Phones, TV's, laptops etc are upgraded each year because they can. I don't see why Apple are getting a hard time over this, everyone does it!

probably because a lot of people dislike apple and they generally dip feed features that have been around on other platforms for ages.

If it's innovation or improvement fair enough, if it's holding stuff back for the next model then they deserve the bad press.

Why ? Every successful company drip feeds new technology that's how they stay successful
