not bad via the laptop with other devices streaming / facebooking etc doubt the servers can dish out over 100Mbps, closest I get at work is in the 80-90Mbps range and we have a 100Mb burstable to 1Gb fibre line.

i struggle to believe this is anyway near accurate... we were paying for 50 meg virgin... which was supposed to go up to 100 meg but never got more than 20megs so sky will do for free with the tv

My company is a provider on Speedtest and the minimum requirement is only a 100Mb connection

The bandwidth costs alone just for participating are massive. It consumes around 400GB of bandwidth per week, and 95th %ile billing goes out the window with speedtests due to the very nature. You end up paying for 100Mb/100Mb (~£600 per month) just for threads like this

There isn't a chance we'd put it on a 1Gb bearer ...
