Bumped my ED30 - HELP!!
« on: 23 October 2011, 10:14 »
Hi, everyone.

Not a very nice reason for my first post but I need some advice as I've had a little accident in my ED 30.  I hit a 6" broken bollard whilst parking.  I was very annoyed as it was impossible to see, it's ripped the front splitter (spoiler) and split the cover that protects the underside of the engine.  I'll also need the front part of the passenger wheel arch cover that is screwed to the splitter.

My questions:

1.  Is the ED30 splitter different from the standard GTI? (I've heard it is), if so where would I be able to source one other than VW? Also how much are they likely to be?

2.  Are the other parts I require just standard to all  Golf's?  Also how much are they likely to be?

I'd appreciate anyone's input on this, I adore my car and looking at it out the window is upsetting  and I'd like to get her sorted as soon as possible.

Many Thanks

Unfortunate

The ED30 front splitter is different to the GTi and unless 1 crops up on ebay it'll be a trip to the dealers, another option is to replace it with an aftermarket 1 (reiger, etc) which would be cheaper

The arch linings and undertray are the same as on any other mk5 GTi - plenty breaking on ebay

Thanks for your help guys.  Are the under trays/wheel arches standard to the original Golf and not just the GTI?
