Fabia vRS - ABS/Electrical Problems

Evening,

Took my Fabia out for a spin today as it hadn't been used for the past week and it seems to have developed a few problems whilst sitting around doing nothing.

Symptoms

    First turned it on and a warning light with steering wheels and ! showed up
    When driving it the hand brake light, ABS light, and TCS light, randomly flash up and the speedo drops to 0mph before bouncing back up to whatever speed I'm travelling.
    Steering wheel feels really light when on the move i.e. 60mph and really heavy when moving at slow speeds, seems more noticable when turning right.

Right only managed to clean the 3 earths on the strut and check the ECU plugs/contacts before rain put an end to any further investigation.

The fuses on the battery are all ok.

Cleared all codes with vag-com and I've got a new one now in the engine module.

Should I start pricing up ABS controllers?

Have you checked the fuse for the ABS? Can you communicate with the controller at all?

Assuming there is just the fuse on the battery then yeah they are all ok.

I can communicate with it through vag-com and clear faults on it or go to measuring blocks. Just seems to happen every few seconds when driving.

Think there is one under the dashboard too but if that was shot you wouldn't be able to communicate with the controller

How far did you drive the car as the system is self checking.  Perhaps the fact its sat still for so long it needs to be driven to get the voltage back up in the battery and for the system to be happy

Well what ever the fault is, it's permanent now. Speedo didn't work from the word go this morning and also when I turn corners or brake harshly the fuel gauge drops to zero then back up to what it actually reads (3/4 full), this also causing the low fuel light to briefly appear on the dash.

I'll take all the fuses off today and have a proper look.
