Correct, leaving a car running without being in it is illegal on a public road however not sure if that still applies if the car is on your own drive.

Also (off topic) what is the point of a turbo timer, just drive the last mile or so off boost, it is all I have ever done.

It's for those jap boys mainly with big ass turbos that get hotter than the sun i'm guessing? Not much use on a MK4  :grin:

Its not illegal it just makes a thatcham cat 1 alarm void.. if it was illegal why would people like toad and clifford sell them think about it.. They are very good and cut out as soon as someone opens a door or triggers the interior sensors so are still quite safe.. no need to bypass the immob

On a mk4 you will need to bypass the immob or else it will not start.  :smiley:

Someone on the Skoda forum was asking about a turbo timer on a vRS and he had the same problem.

As said earlyer in the thread it can be done but when ive fitted these to cars ive always cut the spare key to pieces to get the chip out and then glued it to the ignition barrel,these should only be fitted to auto cars but ive just made customers sighn disclaimers  :wink: .
It is however a good idea to check its not in gear as ive seen 2 cars kangarooing down the street outside my work and put my rs turbo in to a wall outside the pub one night  :laugh: :laugh: funny but lucky for me no damage and know one run over.
