cheap parts?
« on: 17 October 2011, 13:34 »
i havent posted on here for a while as i have gotten into the habbit of annoying texting Rhyso for quick advice, and he's always spot on as we all know :nerd:. i'm just wondering if anyone knows where i can get cheap parts?

i currently have an engine management light on dash - Rhyso Vag'd and it said "intake manifold flap motor no response"
Googled the sh!te out of it and found that people generally have to get a new unit (sits under the EGR) and then replace the F8 fuse. Most of those who swapped both said the flap was completely jammed due to broken teeth on the gears, but when i took mine off for a good clean, it turned freely when pushed.

my F8 fuse was indeed blown, and so tried fixing that as a first port of call. 10amp's blow as soon as ignition is on, so put a 15amp in as a test. didn't blow and dash light is off, but still running lumpy and a lil slower than it should be (stage 1 remap).

Long story short it looks like i will need the new unit after all, and i can't find it for less than £190 delivered.

Does that price include the forum 25% discount?

Also can you remember if it said Open or short to ground?.  Just did a quick search myself and it could indicate a problem with the wiring  :undecided:

Also was there any broken teeth at atll?

Some pics of it apart here:

Yeah as some were able to move it but a couple of teeth were missing so it wouldn't operate properly.
