No the reason I wanted Monza Shadows as they are easy to clean.

I beg to differ. With Charlestons and Vancouvers, you can get your wash mit between the spokes and reach all of the inside of the wheel, or is that just me being anal?

So your saying that flat surfaces are harder to clean than spokes?

Who uses a wash mit here apart from dubber36?

That'll be me as well then !! Wouldn't wash my 'couvers without one - I bet the black paint on your alloys is scratched - not just because of how they are washed but also the paint is soft so scratches quite easily

I also use wheel whoolies to get them really sparkly

The GTI is the only car I hosed down once and wiped the wheels once. Those Shadows are so easy to wipe.
As a rule, I never wash my cars or clean my houses. So much easier to get someone else to do it as it costs peanuts compared to what my time is worth.
Helps employment and the economy.

I hope they use decent equipment to wash your car otherwise they are doing horrible damage to that lovely red paintwork of yours

Washing the car

Talking of washing the car.

Well I wouldn't trust the dealer to wash the car again. When I took it in for the digital gear indicator he asked if I want the car washing I said no it its that dirty. He said later they have washed it before he had chance to tell them not to.

The next day all my wheel bolt plastic caps went white so I don't know what they use to wash the wheels. I pulled them all off and used back to black to restore them even now there are traces of white on the caps. I haven't been back to claim a new set under warranty.

An acidic wheel-cleaner did that, most likely, e.g. "Wonder-wheels".

Well they must have changed what they use as previous washes at the dealer were ok so they aren't washing it again.

I know this isn't on topic of the original post but.....If I buy a GTI am I really going to spend my time worrying about it being stolen??

Only asking this after reading all the "car stolen" threads on here.

cheers
