Revo Stage 1 Remap Vs APR Help

Hi All,

Just got my 1st GTI a few weeks ago and seriously considering a remap to take it to the next level.

after deciding i want to go for a "trustworthy name" on the market i've narrowed my search to APR and REVO, However after speaking to Awesome, they basically (in a nutshell) told me REVO was better than APR, so i done a bit more digging and found out Awesome use to distribute APR and for 1 reason or another cut ties with them and switched to REVO.

However what i really need to know as i believe i will go with REVO is the following:

What other parts should be upgraded to deal with REVO Stage One?

If upgrades are necessary will my warrenty be invalid by any of these changes (understand the remap will be undetectable by the stealers unless driven and they can tell the differance)?

Is REVO better than APR and if yes or no..... why?

Stage 1 you don't need to do anything really.

Make sure the engine is in good working order, check that the coilpacks have been replaced under warranty and go from there.

The DV (diverter valve) does tend to fail after a remap but the latest part from VW is revised to alleviate this problem and is a third of the price of the Forge one

You mention warranty so I can only presume you've got an extended warranty as your MK5 is well outside its manufacturer's one

Fuel pumps tend to be a factor on very high mileage cars.  You only need a high pressure fuel pump when going further than a Stage 1 remap

I wouldn't recommend either of those but that's down to my personal preference in how they drive.  I find REVO very agressive low down.  I can't comment on APR as I've never driven an APR mapped car.

If you like OEM power delivery then any of the forum traders here are a much better bet.  If you were closer to me I'd take you out in my mate's MK5 GTI so you could see for yourself how well it drives

After looking around and asking I was told Revo is very peaky so was best avoided.

Better to find a good local company or carbon (who do a mobile service I believe)
