Jay I'm getting really hacked off , I cant send an email from my virgin account but can receive 
Could you tell me the process of setting it up properly please its P*ssing me right off  :grin:

From where? The website or Ms Outlook or Windows Mail? Or something else?

Check your SMTP server settings are correct:

http://help.virginmedia.com/system/selfservice.controller?CONFIGURATION=1002&PARTITION_ID=1&TIMEZONE_OFFSET=&USERTYPE=&VM_CUSTOMER_TYPE=Cable&CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=37917

Don't worry about the procedures, just look at the settings.


smtp.virginmedia.com and make sure it is set to use authentication (your username and password) for outgoing email (smtp server).
Passat B5.5 2.3 V5 170, with all the extras.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

hasnt imail automatically set up the outgoing server, and if its receiving but not sending the outgoing server may be wrong worth a check

Imagine that, Virgin having the incorrect settings (for NTL world addresses ) on their own website  :rolleyes:

For future reference, don't enable smtp / outbound authentication IF you have an NTL world email address.
