Everyone does want to get offshore, the company I work for had 300 cv's sent in in a week when we last advertised for two trainee positions.  I'm glad I got offshore when I did because it seems harder now.

It would certainly help to get your survival paid for and passed but other than that pure persistance will be what eventually gets your foot in the door.  Even if you have sent a cv to a company before send it again in a couple of months also get on the phone to companies and ask what positions they have going.

Nice,  I just got back from a three weeker, on courses this week though.  You working on Perenco at the moment?

Toby, if its what you want to do then keep plugging away and you will get the opportunity and from my point of view you won't look back once you get offshore.

im trying to get into plumbing, done my tech cert 2 at college (night course) and i am now trying to get a plumber who can pay me to work with him or her so i can finish my full level 2. Worse thing is if i dont get it done within a certain time i will lose the lot so it will be 2 years wasted and a fair bit of cash wasted too!
