Usually a change of career will see a drop of salary for a little while, so it's a tough call.

turning 21 and needing no less than 26k?

at that age I was happily living on 18k going partying every weekend getting legless and renting a large 2 bed flat 5 mins walk from the town centre

oh how times change!

Oil Industry is flooded with people wanting roustie jobs but you could try an agency like Atlantic Resourcing a roustie will make about 24 to 28k depends on who you work for.... Would it not be easier to just find another plumbing job?  26k salary at 21 as jay said thats a lot like

I think you need a reality check unless you have training in some other trades that pay the same or better (and if you do, why arent you doing them already?). Get on the jobsites and slap your CV on and see what you get offered by the agencies but a change of career isnt going to draw you such a high wage at that age without training or qualifications.

Maybe for a change, work for an M&E maintenance company. It won't be full on doing plumbing, it might involve AHU filter changes, the odd light bulb change, it gets you away for a bit, but the wages will be similar and you may get a van and fuel card too.
