Bentley Continental Flying Spur

q: what happens when you spend £90 on a 'detailer' to spend 3 hours polishing your Bentley?
a: swirls and holograms

I was lucky enough to be approached by one of Martyn at BLK Alloys clients... he had previously approached 2 other 'detailers' in his area... 1 never showed up.. the other spent 3 hours 'polishing' his Bentley.

The client was under the impression that Bentley paint was very 'soft' and that it therefore scratched very very easily.

When I saw the car for the first time I was quite shocked...

but its unfair to assess a car without cleaning it first...

car was treated to a chemical pre-soak on the lower panels and arches with Autosmart (AS) Hazsafe

the wheels were cleaned with AA Clean Wheels with Envy Detailing brushes... AS Treble X was used on the interior wheel surface which had more deposits..

car was then snowfoamed with Valet Pro PH neutral snow foam

followed by a two bucket wash with AS Autowash with Zaino grit guard buckets and an AS Noodle mitt.

car was then clayed with AA mild clay and AS reglaze... I did a comparison with Martyn using AS reglaze as a clay lube in comparison to some DoDo Born Slippy which I had... In my considered opinion the AS Reglaze knocks socks off Dodo Born Slippy...

Car was then washed using the two bucket method as before and then dried using waffle towels.

I thought seeing as the car had been previously polished that I could get away with a single pass... but I had to step-up to 3M Fast cut plus (green) on a Yellow pad in order to correct the paintwork...

it was then finished using 3M Ultrafina on a blue pad.

leaving us with the following result...

unfortunately by the time I had finished I was not able to get any 'into sun' shots... but I can assure you, and so can Martyn, that it was flawless...

so after the car was finished the owner took both Martyn and I out for a spin and to find a spot to take some more photos...

that car is draw droppingly fast... and comfortable to boot! Win Win!

anyway... took some more photos... got some lovely looks and comments from passers by!

GREAT work there!

£90 for 3 hours???  That's some impressive hourly rate!  It's amazing how many idiots there are out there now with some (cheap) gear and no idea!!
