Did it come with the loom?

No it didn't that's why I'm having so many problems even more so if the ecu is actually for an 8v not 16v engine lol I'll continue banging my head on the wall lol

If I'm honest I'd go find a complete car with an ABF fitted to it and pull the loom to template from at the very least.

Building from scratch means a lot of connectors etc, which won't be cheap.

Can you switch to Megasquirt and ITBs, or is this for a race series?

It's going back from itb's and omex to STD for the race series

Think I'll go with the suggestion of finding a complete car to take the parts from

Thanks for the help guys

Without wishing to tread on toes here I thought I'd raise a couple of points.

The ABF came with an immobiliser on cars built after March 1994. The original sticker on the top timing belt cover should help if it's present or the full ECU part number (sorry if you posted and I missed it)

The Passat did come with an ABF as standard but only for a short while. They are like hens teeth so unlikely you'll have parts from one but not impossible.

Lastly. I have a complete ABF engine loom which is outnofnthe car presently so let me know if you need pics and assistance.
