What colour car is this pic?
« on: 26 April 2005, 13:09 »
Not my car pictured, just one from ebay at the moment same solour as mine.

I'm not in the car today, but am going getting some decent Holts type paint mixed from my local shop (if not Halfords) after work.

Just to confirm; is the colour Pearl Dragon Green, paint code LC6P ?

Because it's an early VR6.

A VR6 isn't a way of life, it's just a car.

Luckily its not mine!!!

Like I said at the top, its one for sale on ebay at the moment, haven't a clue who owns it, just used it for reference. Mine is three door and has got std. smoked side repeaters.

Soon to get crystal fogs to match the crystal headlights.

Gonna see what the local car supplies says about the paint. My best mates a sprayer anyway if it all goes Pete Tong! Should be ok though.

good tip if you don't already know it. When using tins of spray, warm them up in hot water first, makes spray finer and gives a more shiney finish

Yep, I'm gonna stick em in freshly boiled water for a couple of minutes as always (WARNING: don't put them directly into the kettle!)

The main thing is, I don't want any of that Hycote acrylic crap that most shops sell, cos they're the cheapest. I don't like the paint or the nozzles. Its nearly impossible to get a satisfactory finish with them....and lots of prep work required, decent masking & 1000 grit wet'n'dry ( I think) with lots of soapy water. Then thin layers of high build primer at a time, followed by paint and lacquer. Should get a decent job out of it. Tempted to ask my friend for cheap quote for a deep blue respray one day anyway. (Audi A6 deep blue colour) then I'll have the RS style bumpers on.

I'll try & start posting pics after/during doing it.
