Yeah had a look at it today and that appears to be the case. Bit of a pain as would make the job so much easier if it was to slide out. I'll get it done though. Hopefully get it started tommorow.

Yeah i'm well pleased with it too....just hope the rest of the car turns out just as good. Progress should be speeding up over the next month so will be plenty updates as need to get this finished.

Block was done on black hammerite and the gearbox and many other parts are done using smooth silver hammerite mate.

Really been putting the hours into this thing now....heres some pics if whats been happening.

Got the rear floor all cleaned up, have treated all the bits of rust, more seam sealer and today was stonechip day!!

Whoops.....

Had the oldmans spitfire outside while I was stonechipping but brought it back in what it started spitting rain then went to touch up a few bits on the golf I had missed and well ......just aswell its not painted yet!!

Basically now will leave that a few days to cure properly and then it will be some primer then paint.

Some more bits I have been working on.

Rear axle...

Tanks straps...

Some pics of the rediculously good condition leather interior I got....

Will look lush when its all fitted!!

Some recent purchases....

Will more than likely lamin-x the top halves but need to get some anyway for what I have planned for the headlamps.

More updates shortly!!

Lol.....yeah, although not too well at the moment. I'll relax when this is done. Business is slow just now so have the time but not the money. The stonechip is U Pol Gravitex, my dad had some of it, saved me a bit of cash anyway!!
